having just sent my mountain horse boots i ordered back as they are too wide round calf i looked and lots of other boots seem similar calf size. I have apair of ariat bromonts regualar and they fit fine but i wanted a slightly cheaper pair of boots to replace my worn out jod boots and chaps (didnt really want jod boots and chaps again as dont look as smart as boots but may have to) i like quite fitted boots ie; not big saggy ankles and pref in black so i can also wear x-country.

I have ridiculously skinny legs, and I had some of these toggi boots

For everyday riding. However, I used and abused them so much they got a bit pooped looking so I went back to some ariat boots and chaps. Have you looked at the ariat boots and chaps? They do look quite smart and "boot like" :D

How slim are your calfs if you don't mind me asking? Its just I'm looking at some ariat long yard boots at the moment, and have looked at the windermere, and wondering about the different boots and their leg widths.

(can you tell I'm a bit of an ariat girl :D)

I have HKMs, the only ones I could find to fit well without spending £££ or being made to measure :)

Can I ask what sort of width your calfs are? Sorry for cheekiness - the hkm boots look nice, but I get a bit scared of buying boots I haven't seen in RL as my legs and ankles are so reeeeediculously skinny :)
