Hi so just a quick bit of back ground info
so earlier in the year my lovely little cob turned into a complete and utter nightmare to handle, i mean biting, leaping, rearing and boxing just down right nasty and mean. i made the decision to send him away for some training as he was way out of my ability to correct. i went and visited him while he was gone did loads of ground work with him and went hacking and did some schooling all of which went really well and he returned home a few weeks back now. touch wood everything has been going well he's had a few strops (like most men do
) but with working with the trainer before he came home iv learnt how to gain respect from him nip them in the bud and move on. i am yet to ride him though and heres my issue.
He has always been pretty well behaved in the school but i lack confidence so the longer i leave riding him the more i worry he is going to misbehave! before i brought him home the trainer which is quite local to me assured me they would be on hand to give me lessons with schooling and gaining my confidence twice a week. he has been home for 6 weeks now and after many many many texts and calls i am still yet to have a lesson, it was suggested i could take my horse back there so i could have lessons as much as i liked but would be on schooling livery which i just do not have the funds to do. its now got to the point i have had to think about putting him up for sale as i know i cannot do this on my own and i feel like i am struggling to find help!
so I'm looking for advice, do i continue with trying to get lessons with the trainer who knows my horse or do i look for someone new?
