Just wanted to say.... i run our t.v/d.v.d player off our leisure battery and the mobile phone charger runs from the cigarette lighter on the dash

I use time at shows as time to escape from modern forms of life such as the TV but as per Gucci B I know that other half's parents run the TV from a well charged leisure battery when they are away for a few days at a time. I have a loathing of generators, we always seem to park next to the noisy one that is left on until the early hours and I know that OH has said that the Honda ones are really quiet.

Most LCD flat screens are 12v

I bought a cheapy 22" DVD LCD flat screen, lopped off the adaptor and wired it to the leisure battery. Not specific for caravans so was much cheaper!

Then mobile phone - buy a car charger? Then can either wire up 12v socket or charge from main battery

As has already been said...you don't need a generator to charge your phone...or even run a telly. A good 110ah leisure battery will do you fine. If you go down the generator route though...money buys silence ! I have a 2.5kva genny and that will run a TV, microwave and kettle easily...and it cost about £150...but it's quite noisy. The Honda genny's aren't as powerful bur they are quiet...but cost about £600+.

Er eBay I buy everything from there and then I don't have to leave the farm

I think I bought this model, and definitely from this seller:

The only thing I would say is invest in a decent aerial. I had one of the omnidirectional ones and it was totally pants. Upgraded to a status 530 which is fab (although stupid horsebox builder stuck on passenger side, so its a bit dodgy for low hanging branches....)
