Posted a while ago needing a saddle for pony
12hh sec a X
Completely flat short backed with no withers at all & porky lil feller
Everyone reccommended thorowgood cob but tbh they are really expensive & i cant afford one, spoke to horse shop man said try get a wintec changeable gullet but agsin expensive & very hard to come by unless you have paypal, looking at a Genesis pony saddle adjustable tree she said that also does the gullet??
Thanks any advice please?

Any changeable headplate saddle is on a plastic tree; in my experience, and in trying to develop our own changeable headplate saddle, they are just not flat enough for true table tops. A wooden tree resists being curved up when the seat is put on (webbed and strained), a plastic tree curves up a lot. The saddles you're looking at are actually very cheap in the scheme of things, saddles aren't cheap, but then horses aren't cheap to keep full stop. I hope you find something in your budget, anything I could recommend wouldn't be in your price range, even second hand.

Heather moffett does a changeable headplate saddle on a leather tree which might be suitable. They arent cheap though but you do get what you pay for
