My pony is AMAZING!
We went showing again today, after a blip after our last show which to be quite honest knocked my confidence (in myself, not in her!). So today was important to me as a build up exercise, and also as her last outing before the SWPA Championships in September.
First up was our first ever working hunter! The Large M&M Workers was nice at 2'3, and Genie was jumping so big she almost jumped me out of the saddle! A nice clear round, and a good individual saw us in 2nd! Was absolutely thrilled as my aim in the workers was to survive! We didn't get pulled in the workers championship, but I didn't expect to, and Genie was fab in the class.
We entered Best Mare to pass the time, expecting it to be huge (as it usually is I've found!). We were the only ones in it! Genie was fab, absolutely hoof perfect, and the judge was very complimentary. Needless to say we we won it!
Finally was the Ridden Large M&M, always the most important class to me! There weren't very many of us, but the standard was high, and Genie bless her was once again hoof perfect, and we won it! The Welsh C in 2nd had won the working large M&M and was absolutely GORGEOUS, so I am very chuffed with my pony!
The championship went on FOREVER. We all did individuals, and then he stood there staring at us for AGES, it was tenser than the final of the X-Factor! He then asked three of us to trot round again, so we did (for ages), and then to canter round (which we did, again for ages). We finally got back to walk, and he pulled us in first! I got all excited, and then he said to me 'You're the reserve'. Mean judge!!!
However I am THRILLED with my pony - a 2nd, two 1sts and a reserve champion are fab for a day out!
She has done eight ridden M&M classes this season, won 6 of them, 2nd in 1, and 4th in the other. She really is an absolute SUPERSTAR.
We also met a LOVELY HHO'er, I'm so sorry I've got a brain like a sieve and I can't remember your username!!! It was lovely to meet you and I saw you had a good day!
