I think my horse would benefit from a pessoa type lunging aid but wondered if the cheaper ones I see on eBay/online are the same or if one of the cheaper types is better than the others?

I'd rather NOT pay the price for a genuine Pessoa if a cheaper 'copy' is available that'll do an equally decent job. Can anyone recommend something? Thanks :)

I bought a replica Pessoa from Ebay a year or so ago. Fantastic service, fantastic quality but to small - and that's the full sized version on a 15.3hh wb - so hardly huge! I can look up the item if you want - like I said it's fab, just feel the sizing is rather mean!

Ahhh.... thanks. Mine's a big (as in wide and big fronted) 16.3 - and XFS is normally the best fitting for side-reins, running martingale, etc. Defo wouldn't want a 'small' size in anything LOL. Was actually a bit worried when I noted the genuine Pessoa only comes in Pony and Cob/TB size.

I don't think paying for the brand is going to make a huge difference

However do consider how your horse's back is being used, often with the pessoa I see a disconnected back, albeit with an agreeable head position

There is a great link on getting your horse using his back in CR at the moment
