Hi everyone,
Firstly...
## mods - I'm not advertising my horse in any way shape or form. She is not on the market - this is a genuine query about value of a horse with a specific problem should the need arise where I do need to think about selling! Hope this doesn't break any forum rules! ##
Secondly...its been sometime since I've been on hh so my apologies for this being my first 'I'm back' post!! I am sincerely hoping that this post won't be seen in the wrong way as advertising a horse as she is not for sale at this present time (and hopefully won't ever be!!)
So basic description of horse:
15hh 11 years old ISH x skewbald mare - stunning looking, excellent conformation. Perfect temperament, never moody or marish, for example can have kids and dogs in her stable with no issues whatsoever! completely trustworthy ride - has had everyone from non-riders, to experienced competition people on her. I've owned her 7 years.
Superb jump (I've jumped her at about 1m 10 but I'm not a SJ er so never done anything 'serious' in this area!!) Very honest to a fence, doesn't refuse and will look after any rider.
Has hunted with a complete novice - is a joy for anyone to take out, never ever strong and always has brakes.
Hacks perfectly alone or in company - can be a little spooky on the odd occassion, but nothing more than a look and a side step
Has never ever bucked, bolted or reared
She is my county show horse...only been out twice and got 2nd CHAPS (qualifiying for champs) and Reserve Champion!
But......she has suffered from azortoria/tying up in the past. This has been pin pointed at being triggered if she is kept stabled 24/7 (is fine kept in for a couple of days when worming for instance) and if she gets excess spring grass. However, I appreciate that this will detract from her value.
Following a relationship break up, and although I would HATE to sell her...its something I may have to think long and hard about further down the line...(alot further as will try everything I can to be able to keep her).
So guys..what do you all think? her 'market' is primarily as a show horse as thats where I know she has definite talent and prospects to go much futher.
Thanks all - would really appreciate your opinions...
