Genuine serious question - not a p**s take

Sorry to disappoint but there is now a shortage of Jelly Tots......

Not sure what someone with less than 500 posts might have to contribute that's worth listening to, but on another, highly cerebral thread I initiated (and you probably wouldn't understand half of it ) Mike007 advocated we all dispense with these confounding items of uselessness.

A case of do as I say, if ever there was one.

*leaves thread in a terminal huff*
Do as I say ... thats practicaly parelli isnt it:D:D:D:D

I think that you should perhaps know a little about something before you judge it so.
Nothing we do to a horse is natural, so i tend not to use it in training. To me its just good horsemanship. You dont have to be NH to be a good trainer.
I think its a bit ignorant of you to state that the tools we use are rubbish because obviously you are not familiar with the technigues. Dont try to judge something because you do not understand it.
Agree with you there Jennyharvey.

Iv seen enough off parelli to last me a life time thanks.
Iv watched it and walked away thinking what rubbish and videos off that linda will not help in anyway. In my mind it's complete rubbish, And a lot off other peoples as well by the sounds off it

I bought an anglo who 'had done parelli lots and lots and really well'....

The horse was so f*cked up, it was shameful...

Alot of common sense and careful handling later, said horse is now on loan while the woman saves up to buy him and her kids can muck in with his grooming etc...

3 years ago, he would have probably killed them...

I don't know enough about it TBH, but if my horse is the result of someone who 'thinks they know it all in Parelli'....then god help the others...

I have also heard good things, so each to their own I reckon....

I don't think much we do can be called 'natural' with animals these days! Horse were around for millions of years before humans were invented......

IMO if what you do works and your horse seems to be accepting what you ask, then continue....because...if it ain't broken, why fix it? :D

Sat here feeling slightly worried as i have zero interest in Parelli but io and Jacob both love picking up sticks (io will even carefully extract a plastic post from the electric fence if he cant find a stick) and then wave them at each other

At my last job as a groom, the foal used to pick up sticks and poke the shetland with them :D

Rema, I started the thread with a genuine question and I haven't got my answer yet!

I don't want to jump on the parelli bashing bandwagon, it's not for me & having been at a parelli yard for some time & being the only non believer there I have seen enough of it imo to make a considered decision.

However I am genuinely interested in your posts on the other thread because it's so alien to my way of thinking that I struggle to see the logic behind it. I re-iterate again it's a serious question & I'm interested in how you think the tail pulling thing works.

My horses load, jump, let me touch them all over, hose pipe them etc etc the list is endless - to me that shows complete trust and it's taken time and effort to get them to this point. I wonder how the tail pulling gains anymore trust than what I've already got, and how it would actually improve my relationship.

Thanks in advance if you can reply with a sensible, educational answer.

It was answered on the other post [unsure as to which one now lol!]

And it was a very much tongue in cheek post if I presume correctly ;) A while ago, there was a parelli expo post which Rem ws participating in :p Which may answer your question if you search it :P

Evening..I think Binky has summed it up perfectly. There was a post a few years ago that was about Parelli, another tounge in cheek post that just kept rolling.I thought i would get busted straight away but i guess there are quite afew new people on here that dident know about the old post.Parelli probably does have a place in the horseworld as do more traditional ways of training horses. Each to their own,,if it works for them great.
My horses are very conventional and are shod, bitted and travel around in the trailer.
No offence was intended but it just was abit of fun..
