Genuinely torn on what to do :-( Help please.

I would be another in the 'go for it' camp, with the reservation that are you well financed enough that if you have to sell the horse you can give it time to find the right home and that you can give it 24/7 turnout most of the time!

To me a behavioural issue when ridden would be a real issue, this is just a matter of finding the right management routine. As long as the horse has a good nature then I would say every horse has a drawback and better to buy one knowing its limitations than find them out once you have parted with your money.
