Any HHOers had any dealings with this company? He has one for sale which doesn't have a tilting cab but engine access through unscrewing cab floor, apparently tilting cabs make the lorry weigh more because of frame needed. My other choice could be a Davenport lorry which has a tilting cab but weighs more. All this because of horses climbing on tack lockers:(:( Otherwise we are quite happy with our Equicruiser. Any opinions or advice would be very gratefully received:)

Avoid if the cab dosent tilt, and it is b oocks about weight !!! just a fib from bodgers who cant build tilt lutons !!!!
 
Ive never understood how a tilt cab makes it heavier??? Id think it be the other way round.
Ive got an Equicruiser and the tack locker is very high, couldnt you adapt it, maybe putting a slope on top of the locker to try and stop them being able to get on the locker? Just a thought :)
 
Thanks for the replies and suggestions. I have just rung my local Iveco garage and they are quite happy with a non-tilting cab, maybe it will be more expensive to repair though, but they are most obliging and helpful :):) Apparently the frame for a tilting cab has to be of heavier steel !!!! And with the worry about weight these days that is why he is building 7.5 tonners non-tilting. Have thought about putting something on top of tack lockers, but have decided would rather have a new lorry, it is also easier with big horses to tack up etc. in the back without them.
