From YHL I think - I love Geoff, but he proves the fact that SJers are not great at trotting - his hands are uppy, downy

but Geoff Billington does put on a great demo evening. Especially when he is copying someone doing dressage eg Richard Davison, or copying eventing sj eg Ian Stark, great entertainment and GB is better than he looks, if that makes sense because I've seen Cassabachus develop over a few years through watching him in those demos.

Hey i'm gonna try that jumping while drinking thing next time I jump!! I'll just have to make sure no one is watching coz their would be nothing left in the cup!!

My old trainer used to make us jump with water in cups - great for making you look as tho you have wet yourself LOL!

This is the horse that was for sale in H&H - I WANT!

I am so annoyed I just missed the demo I met Geoff at Olympia last year he was staying in the same hotel as me. Every one was in the bar after the pussance It was excellent all the show jumpers were there. Every one of them are down to earth Geoff had a good drink and was very sociable. I am looking forwards to this year again. Will certainly be going into the bar after the shows.

Watched even hubbie watched , Had this demo on dvd somewhere, hes so funny and does make every thing look so easy , Loved the bit where he shortens and lengthens the horses stride , he tells some corking stories lol .

was it just my bad luck then that whilst childminding i was watching this at someones house and deeply disappointed that all i could hear was the tinned can audience laughter and absolutely nothing that gb was saying during his demo? got home and oh had been watching it absolutely fine on our tv. i was gutted as it looked really good but interestingly, my oh also thinks gb is a messy rider, shows what i know!!

He is definitely not one of those people who look naturally good on a horse but he is such an intuitive and experienced rider. Seems like he can see a stride from 200 m away from the fence.

I know what it's like - being 5'3" with little legs, I look more Geoff Billington than Anky Van Grunsven) on a horse :-)

nah, managed to get most of me out the way

he is fantastic though, really looking forward to trying to book some lessons next year with him
