You may be aware that I have been having something of a confidence crisis with George of late, well today Quarrybank kindly offered to take me to Hastingwood to do stressage so I went

Quarrybank definately gets an award for giving excellent calming and motivational advice and having the patience of a saint - especially with me going 'I can't do it, I can't canter' and so on

Well, we did the walk and trot test first which we had to do h/c because we'd been in a prelim test before and got a credible 60% and some nice comments. I then went into the prelim and was going to trot the canter movements, but at the last moment thought s*d it and we did it - we left the arena at one point but managed to sort ourselves out and got 55% 'nice horse, some nice moments, quietly ridden' and came 5th out of 12

Thats FANTASTIC news, where did all this confidence come from, I am really impressed.

Good for you - glad you went for it and well done on coming 5th. I love reading about you and George and have been really sad to read about your confidence crisis. There is a lady at my yard who had a confidence crisis with her mare, she has worked through it steadily over the period of about a year and now is doing prelim and novice tests and absolutely loving it. So keep up the positive work!!!!
