Gorgeous George

Couldn't post yesterday as of course the forum was down, but I am pleased to say that George had his nerectomy and fasciatomy operation yesterday and he is fine
.
Coming round from the op was a bit traumatic, the vet described it as 'a bit of a car crash', apparently George went from flat out to leaping up on all four legs in one go, realising he couldn't stand and falling over
in this time he manged to pull out some of the staples in his leg, nick and artery and bend the steel reinforcing beams behind the recovery box
He then got up slowly the second time round and stood with no problems. Vet redressed the wound, put a stitch in, replaced the staples and gave George a once over and all is well, no harm done..........well except for the damage to their recovery box - oops!
I was so stressed yesterday waiting for the vets to call and the relief when they did was wonderful. I also got to see him in the afternoon, he still looked a little groggy but he seemed pleased to see me and my carrots
and he got the biggest hug ever!
Hoping to have him home on friday and then we start the road to recovery.
