Well not really, but 10 days off has obviously made him think he was retiring early!! I had a lesson yesterday and he did some lovely trot work, but his canter was interesting and he really seemed to struggle with his trot to canter transitions, but after a couple he got the hang of it again

I lunged him this eve, again, lovely trot work, but the first time I asked him to canter he got his legs all in a muddle, and then stopped dead and looked at me as if to say

again, after a few on each rein he was doing ok. Poor love, obviously a big shock to the system.

I felt him all over, and no sore spots

think we will have a nice leisurely hack tomorrow as I heard talk of SUNSHINE

Is anyone elses horse acting a bit odd?

Yeah I heard that rumour too - hope to hack out tomorrow! Took our two to an indoor school today as managed to get the wagon out. just gave them 30 mins each of free schooling and over a few poles/fences. Think they enjoyed it and hopefully made them think again about how it was to use those muscles! Lol

My boy went like this. I got the vet out as it was odd. He had a virus and Laryngitus! He tried his heart out but when it came to canter he struggled bless him.

My TB has definitely forgotten how to canter..we now go straight from trot to bolting. Oh, and he definitely hasn't forgotten how to buck

Hm. Dizzy certainly hasn't forgotten how to canter - seemed to find it easier to canter up the hill than trot, just a pity we were on the road and I didn't ask for a canter lol. Stopping was interesting too (handful of mane was required, that and big, fat ar$e shoved deep into saddle lol).

Maybe some carrot stretches for the George?

M - don't y'just love 'em
