Awwwww. Lucky, lucky boy. I'm so glad he's ended up with you.
Is he on your bed?!! He would never even venture upstairs at ours. He went up once, when he first came in the house, to have a look, and then never showed any interest again - I guessed he'd probably never been allowed upstairs before or something?

Errrrmmm......well now he sleeps in my bed every night
I live in a bungalow, not sure if that makes a difference - he was very unsure at first but now I can't keep him off the bed, he is a very effective little hot water bottle
