Ah he does look so sad I hate seeing so many dogs without loving homes. My hairdresser is looking to buy a dog, i suggested that she visit a few homes to adopt, she said she wanted a "brand new puppy" not even a puppy from a home was good enough!! i was speachless to be honest. So many people think the same way.

I have a bitch that I got through the GSD Rescue and wouldn't change her for the world. All I'd say is that if you want a loyal trusty friend get a German Shepherd!

I have a GSDx from the RSPCA. Eight years later and she has been the best friend. She is currently led on my window sill in the lounge, watching her kingdom.

OH and I had 2 from a rescue centre years ago, sadley they are no longer with us (old age and illness). Would love to have another, but current house isnt big enough.

If we could afford more - we certainly would take them on. Brilliant dogs. Have had 2 from GSD Rescue Centres - both from the same rescue officer - one was an ex-RAF dog who apparently was too vicious (we got him and he was a softie with us, but nobody else could get onto the yard unless we locked him away - top and bottom doors). He was the best guard dog we could ever have.

We've now got another from the same lady. This one failed his last Police exam (didn't drop after retrieve) but has turned out to be everything we could want in a guard dog and as a friend. He allows people to come into the yard providing we are there - but otherwise BEWARE!

We still keep in contact with the lady we got both these from (in Leicestershire) and she is always telling us about more of them which need re-homing. We've got other dogs here so unfortunately can't take any more on at the moment, but if anyone wants a loyal companion - then give them a go.
