Fat hairy horse wobbled in to his stable tonight, lame on his left hind. He was putting weight on it, just about but was not overjoyed at bending it to have his hoof picked out :( He was eating fine and even managed to beg and paw for a bit of tea  I'm pretty worried. He's a tough cookie and it's really unlike him to be dramatic. He's in tonight, and I will keep you updated with how he is tomorrow :(

Here's beasty and me a few days ago. As you can see, it's icy here, so it's very possible he's slipped and done something.

Get well wishes for your beautiful boy xxx He is just like my cob, and it is really worrying when they are under the weather. Hoping he is back to normal in the morning. Good to hear that he still wanted his tea...I have yet to find something that puts Merlin off his food!!

Thank you both. I just hate to think of him getting stuck somewhere or falling over to do something. I very nearly kept him in this morning as the road out to his field was so slippy. I wish I had :(

Yeah it takes a lot to put them off dinner, doesn't it? :p

Aw, healing vibes coming your way. I've got a stable bound invalid at the moment as well, mines usually a tough cookie too so I know how it feels when you see them hurting. Hugs for you too and hope he feels better soon x

Pony is much less hobbly now. Yesterday, the swelling came out in his hock, and we were given some bute. He's getting it cold hosed twice daily, and its not horrendously swollen. He's feeling stupidly well in himself and is climbing the walls of his stable, but I'm reluctant to let him walk any further than across the yard to the hose, just in case. Idiot!

So glad he is feeling better. Mine's got a poorly hock too. He got caught in a cattle grid last Friday. One of the worst hours of my life. Fortunately he came out pretty much unscathed, just pulled his leg about a bit. I've got him on box rest too. I'd rather be safe than sorry and its so slippy here with mud. Bute, box rest and carrots is the order of the day here....sending more vibes and virtual carrots to your boy too!
