Just back from the vets. Harley was sick 3 times in 2 hours earlier. He didn't immediately re-eat it like he normally does either and the last time was pure liquid with bile in it. Called the vet and asked if I could take him in. they checked him over and they think he's probably eaten something that's upset him. Being a fine Pointer, they had a good feel of his tummy and they couldn't feel anything and he didn't show any discomfort, so for now they don't think it's a blockage so are not going to xray. They gave him a jab to help him stop being sick and told me to feed him tiny amounts of chicken and rice little and often, and to make sure he doesn't guzzle water.

He was a bit quiter than normal earlier, but since we've been home, he's much brighter. Gone a licked the grass where he had been sick that I had cleared up (stopped him straight away! Nice!), licked his food bowl and is now trying to persuade me to play ball with him (placed the ball one my lap and staring at me!). So I don't think he's feeling that poorly.

No idea if I panicked or not. I feel better having been to the vet. Please can I have vibes for him please! I've had nothing but rubbish luck for over a year now and I'm a bit fed up!!

Oh no poor Harvey, I'm sure it's nothing much and he will be fine soon, wanting to play is a good sign though.

Oops what a nob I renamed him, sorry Harley light haired moment, tried to post 4 x and kept looking the link argh!

Fingers crossed he feels better soon - he's probably had a nibble on something manky out and about if he's anything like Henry!

Thanks guys. He's been fine since. He's been on chicken and rice but this morning we gave him kibble again and he seems fine.

I think I have discovered what upset him. I was talking to a lady up the yard yesterday morning and she was saying that something strange happened in her shed (where he keep our feed/hay/bedding etc) on Thursday in that the lid had come off a bottle of Codlivine Oil and it was spilt all over the floor.... The door is broken on her shed so he could have easily got in there. Then this morning I followed him and caught him in there, he'd got the lid off again (!!!! No idea how he's doing that, but she assured me that it was on!) licking the container! So I'm quite convinced he must have drank some of it and it upset him. Would explain why I couldn't see anything manky in the sick too.

Stupid pup! The bottle of oil has now been put well out of reach!!
