Windosr, (the 12 year old lab) took a turn for the worse on Monday. You may have seen me saying he's an old retired gundog with bad hips, arthiritis and also stone deaf. I had him out on Sunday and thought he was very lethargic. On Monday he fell and couldn't get up, clearly in pain so Mark took him to the vets. He was kept in overnight and got a number of injections to ease pain etc. Turns out they were considering putting him to sleep yday morning (I wasn't told until last night) but he started to improve. They ran tests as well and there's nothing wrong with his brain.
The old boy is now back home and last night he ate a full dinner and half a frying steak. He even made the effort to try and get up and to walk from his bed down into the kitchen to see Mark (my uncle). Fingers crossed these are signs that he is at least trying to walk and eat and making an effort. Mark was planning on sleeping downstairs last night with him.
I haven't heard any reports today so hoping no news is good news but please everyone keep fingers and toes crossed as if there is no improvement in the next few weeks I'll have to say goodbye to my beautiful boy.
