Nick Skelton was taken into hospital at the weekend, after being taken ill whilst taking part in the Nations Cups show in Barcelona. He's now on his way home:

just so you all know, he was perfectly well on saturday afternoon and was placed third on saturday evening on carlo (prize giving was about 7 ish) so he was as right as rain then. he wasnt actually due to compete in the nations cup on sunday (britain were not eligible to compete) although he could have done the morning warm ups he was never in the entry that I saw. several riders went home saturday night including Jessica Kurten and Laura Kraut.
Certainly no one was talking about any near death experiences on sunday morning so i cant imagine it was too serious, you know how the grapevine is! anyway these northen sorts are tough enough!
 
as far as we know JC he is fine but felt unwell in Barcelona sometme after he finished jumping on saturday evening and had to go to hospital for tests. he stayed overnight apparently but as i said above he wasnt due to jump in the Nations cup sunday and there were only two small classes in the morning so many riders were going saturday night anyway (jessica Kurten, Laura kraut, Eric Lamaze for example) and i dont remember seeing Nick on a start list. certainly no one at teh show ground talked to me about it on sunday and you know how the grapevine is, if it had been really serious someone would have been. according to the report he stayed over nght for tests but he got let out in the morning.
