Hi all,

Having moved to our own place we are desperate to get a tipping trailer in place. A local farmer has agreed to take it away for us and we have been looking on ebay at second hand ones BUT we have no way of picking it up! I know this sounds daft but does anyone know of a service that will pick up and deliver a tipping trailer that big?! Thank you in advance!

If you are looking locally then its worth contacting companies that are local that do plant machine hire as they will have the equipment to transport the trailer for you

There was a company called Shipley where you used to be able to put in an ebay item number and have companies bid to transport the item, worth a try if they are still around

Find a transport company with a low loader and a winch.
Also make sure that you get your second hand trailer thoroughly checked out especially brakes, wheel bearings, hydraulics pipe work, electrics and corrosion as most of them have stood about for years.
I always buy new ones as that way there is less aggravation and they deliver them!

For a muck trailer! LOL Wheel bearings easy . Brakes unlikely to be an issue as most horse yards dont have a tractor up to date enough to operate them. You pay your money and take your choice but Guess most wont want to spend several K on a new one especially to carry muck

How far? A tractor tipping trailer? I brought my muck spreader home from the dealers (25 miles) behind the Land Rover as they refused to deliver. Great fun! Bounced all the way like a kangaroo due to incorrect tyre pressures. Not a single copper in sight!

But that's nothing. The purchaser of my B47 hay baler towed it all the way home across Scotland behind his pickup. 60 miles?

Bloody hell a B47 bet you were glad to see the back of that! Spent many days swearing at them in my youth thats probably why I hate balers full stop.

Would put hell of a nose weight on a land rover unless well balanced the trailer that is.
If its less than 60 miles the right tractor is an option but the trailer tyres may nt be up to the speed of the tractor

did exatly the same with a spreader behind our shogun lol.

Thank you all again, some greats suggestions (Shipley! I always assume that's just a man with a van) and some very funny replies!

Absolutely! I now have a Welger AP530. Expensive but it never misses a beat.
