We have a lovely boxer with a fab temperament. Bred by Lily Goodwin at Lomali Boxers, Foxton, near Cambridge.

I love boxer puppies, at least when they are puppies they have an excuse for being dumb!

There are a few problems to look out for, normal stuff eyes, hips elbows etc. Boxers also prone to heart problems and a thing called progressive axonapathy (need to make sure this is not in the line at all)

Good luck with you search. Perhaps some of these questions?

How old is the dam/sir?
How many litters has the bitch had?
What sort of things are the puppies used to? (normally breeders get pups used to radios/hoovers etc)
How old are they letting the pups go? Should be 8wks.

Basically you just want to meet at least the dam and preferably see the puppy interacting with its littermates. Some breeders work on a first come first served basis i.e they'll ask you to pick a 1st and 2nd, possibly 3rd choice, depeding on who's already picked a pup. Does that make sense? I know what I mean!! LOL

You'll be better looking through the breed club for a KC reg litter from a reputable breeder.

Need piccies when you find one!

Good points there!
I would also only buy from breeders who have made sure that both parents are health tested, and can show you the KC/BVA forms.. hips and Hearts are very important.
http://www.boxerbreedcouncil.co.uk/ This site will give you lots of help in what to look for esp in health! The links section too!
The breed clubs can point you in the right direction for RESPONSIBLE breeders, and rescues ..which are full to overflowing

as always.

If you don't need to have a KC registered dog, or a puppy, there are two boxer ex-breeding bitches with Many Tears http://www.manytears.co.uk/ (along with a lot of other dogs looking for their forever homes). They take many of their dogs from puppy farms once their 'owners' have decided that they are no longer economically viable.

Many more dogs (including puppies) looking for homes here (possibly some more boxers - not looked at all of them): http://www.dogpages.org.uk/forums/index.php

While these are all dogs in rescue (except for the Private Homings section), please don't dismiss them as all having insurmountable issues. There are many reasons why a dog ends up in rescue. Often they are in foster homes so that their temperament can be assessed and they can have a bit of training. I have two young fosters with me at present. Neither are Boxers though

Hope it works out for you.
