Hi, I was wondering if some of you lovely people could help me? I have hunted a lot, and recently my back's started to hurt after a few hours. I'm not hunting for any longer than previous seasons, and apart from a broken collarbone this summer I haven't got any back related injuries (had physio for the cb). How can I stop this- I look like the hunchback of Notre Dame the next day!

I hunted today in my back support. It was the first time I have done a full day in it. I put it on at 7am and took it off a 5.30pm. I have damaged discs which don't normally cause me a problem riding but I've had problems recently so thought I would try hunting in my back support.
It worked my back was fine and it helped to keep my back warmer.

What sort of exercises could she do? (Big sister talking now, lol). Think a chiropracter is probably a little too expensive, especially as we've just had her proper horse done!

I developed backache whilst riding one of my horses and assumed it was my back beginning to protest after years of riding. However, a few months later when I had the saddle flocking adjusted after a routine saddle check my back problem instantly disappeared. The saddle was found to be a tad too narrow at the withers and therefore wasn't sitting level (slightly up at the front) so my back was compensating. And no, I hadn't noticed! Sounds so obvious but I'm talking very slight here and it's something I wasn't looking for since horse and saddle have been a combination for approx 9 years and annually checked for fit. Just a thought, incase your back pain isn't actually you, your horse may have changed shape or saddle needs adjustment.

I know it might not be a long term solution but I swear by my Prolite Back Support, I wear when I jump/ hunt, do anything other then a short hack around the block. It really does work for me.

I actually find that doing the stables is what does my back in.
