I know this has been done before, but my search abilities seem to be hopeless.
Horse is on two sachets of antibiotics per day, one in am, one in pm. He has taken the first half of the course but has slowly gone off his feed and definitely didn't get the full dose this morning. I tried my worming bit last night, which worked, but when I went to use it this morning he was not impressed at all (hence trying in feed again). Any other suggestions about how to get the last five sachets into him? Or links to previous threads?
Thanks!

I've used that with another horse, but this one is really bad about syringes, which is why I own a worming bit. As soon as he sees a syringe, he just starts jerking his head about and there is little I can do to stop it!

Does he like Peppermints? If so stuff him with a few before giving the antibiotics from a syringe. Mix the antibiotics with some peppermint Oil and a little warm water before giving to him. Then after give him some more peppermints.

The stronger the mints the better. I always give my horses Peppermint before worming as it disguises the taste and if the mints are really strong it also overpowers the taste buds.

My recipe for my thoroughly suspicious TB is as follows: Trickle some liquid molasses onto bottom of feed bowl, add food + water and mix, then add powder, mix again, then a bit more molasses over the top. If he's being particularly fussy I also add in some apple or carrot peelings and mix really well so he can't pick them out individually. He's been known to pick out nuts from his mix if he's feeling awkward. He loves the molasses and will lick the bowl clean and I pretty much get everything down him this way. Dpony on the other hand would mainline antibiotic powder given a chance, he's just had 2 weeks worth for a dental abcess and has wolfed them down with a very small helping of Safe & Sound.
