Hello all,

I'm getting my new saddle fitted next week, pony has not been ridden at all last year, only small amount of riding the year before and she was skin an bone when I got her so had to put some weight on her - this she has no trouble in getting but its not muscle!!!

I have to walk her up to get the saddle fitted, this will take at least a couple of hours, will this be too much for her to ride back? I know what I think really but how much riding should I start to do with her once I've got her saddle?

We only have a (very wet at present) field. Its a bit water logged at the moment and we do have an area we have roped off for a school but its too wet to ride there at the moment anyway :(

I really want to get back into riding this year, will give up if I dont lol but dont want to overdo it and ask too much from her too soon, bad weather, dark early, full time job dont really help with time either.

All suggestions of how to come back into work - work is only being a happy hacker, once i've got my confidence back with that, would like to see if she jumps at all, she's only 12.2 sec B, rising 11, we've had our problems and want this to be our year so all help, suggestions, advice greatly appreciated.
