thanks guy for all your advice last week. Well spoke to the vet nurse on Friday morning who said the same things as you guys eg lice, ringworm etc but again couldnt put it down to much as i couldnt be sure she was rubbing her face. Well Saturday morning I caught her

!! So been putting some wound cream on it. The vets wanted me to try and get a sample off her for testing but the git wouldnt let me pluck any hair out!!

Dont know what happened to make her do it but Ebis face was started to go completely bald - starting to look completely neglected and not cared for - ashamed to say it, but surprised noone has reported me the way she looks atm.

The bad beast that she is- I caught her in the act of rubbing her face!!! but guess what on??? no not a little bit of a tree or anther horse but a bloody great big concrete post!!!!

No wonder there was loads of fur/skin missing.

But anyway - just to let you know its starting to clear up. Dont know what caused it but am assuming the cream has helped it heal (whatever it was)

Looks like rain scald to me - yes I know there is the crusty nasty type, but I had a polo pony that had something similar to this - hair fell out, itchy, but pink skin underneath, and the closest I could get to a diagnosis was Rainscald - I treated it as such and it cleared up

I would be tempted to clip her head out so you can treat the skin and not the hair if you understand what I mean!

Has there been a thread describing what you have tried already?

it worked a minute ago for me - never mind bloody computers!!!
yes it is a bugger about the clipping. I dont think its worth trying sedalin with her as she normally has approx £60 of sedative from the vet and thats without any fees etc on top of it or vat for that matter. - yes shes a cow however sweet and angelic she looks. Thats her only down side - she turns into the devil when we try to clip her.

You work this out:
I can get heavy duty mains and cordless clippers on her - touching her and everything but as soon as I got to clip she freaks. I can clip her feathers with either mains, cordless or trimmers and shes fine. Cant get anywhere near her beard with any of the 3, but can just about manage a pair of scissors. Could try and have a go with some trimmers - will have to nick my dads cordless hair trimmers (hell never know) and have a go but doubt itll work - may end up trying scissors with them - even though shell look like a complete and utter twat with a full head clip with scissors. Wonder if i can find some of those hand held ones - the mechanincal ones at the shop, or if a friend has some they can lend me.

It looks like the rainscald that Domino had earlier in the autumn...
she does look like a sweetie though! too bad about the clipping - bad horsie....
