Well I have just sent another pair of boots back :( Not having a great time at the moment trying to find a pair of long boots.

As you know I have slimmed down, ive lost about 5 inches off the circumference of my lower leg (yeah bleeding scary!!) and I now want a pair or long boots. I measured my calf as 38.5cms, then went into a shop and had my leg measured at 38.5cms. So the shops that i went into didnt really have any boots I liked other than ones casting hundreds of pounds, which as Im still slimming I dont want to spend hundreds of pounds on a set of boots that I would be getting rid of hopefully at the end of this year :(

So Ive been ordering boots supposedly measuring between 39 and 40cms, getting them delivered and finding out they dont fit :( Its getting very disheartening.

So I got another pair in yesterday, tried them on tonight and yes you guessed it I cant get them on. They are all wide fittings I have bought but if i go XL they seem to make them longer which means they dig into the back of my leg and therefore i cant wear them :(

So what do I do, gaiters seem to be the same I cant get wide fittings without them being too long and the shorter fittings are too short. The boots I got in I love them, they look exactly what im after short term as once I have hit my target Im getting treated to a new show jacket and a pair of proper leather show boots :D

Im toying with the idea of finding a saddler who would pop a longer bit of elastic on the back of these boots (there is already an elastic panel there). Has anyone had this done?? Or does anyone know anyone who i could send the boots to to get this done?? Im in Scotland if within an hourse driving distance of Lanark/Hamilton im willing to drop them off if not I can courier them happy to pay for this.

My last set of gaiters were made to measure and cost me over 100 quid and im just not looking to spend that again until im where i want to be :(

remember the boots drop! i always buy my boots way to high.....cant bend my knees in them... as with 1 week of wearing them every day they dropped at least 1inch, if not 2!

i did the elastic panel method once my calf grew! (spilt the first piece of elastic in the boots) first time i put the boots on again the elastic panel poped out....we gave up and mum bought me new boots!

My gaiters have a strip of elastic down the side of the zip (either side) so they have a bit of give. Not sure of the make though, but they have tolerated a fair bit of weight gain.

Sorry, didn't read your post properly, you've already got them!!

would they drop 6cms thought??? Honestly couldnt bend my knee in them :( Also if i wore them and creased them i wouldnt be able to send them back :(

Try the English gaiter company , found a loads of pairs that I could choose from, ( unheard of as i thought i had industrial sized calfs) looked stunning on combined with matching joddy boots. Keep them just fo comps, Reasonably priced too.
