Oh I am getting so excited now :D

22nd of october is our local Opening Meet just across my road. This will be my first time ever going out hunting :D.

I am originally from Germany and hunting was banned since 1934.
The only thing we have is more like a fun ride with dress code :D which we call "Fox hunt". And we chase a rider who has a Fox tail on his jacket.

No hounds or anything like it.

Anyway! I have prepared myself as much as I can with reading up on fantastic tips here, speaking to secretary and trying to convince someone from the yard to come with me (the only thing which wasn't fruitful ) and I am now getting really excited.

Any last minute tips :D

P.S.: My horse is an experienced "hunter" BUT I am new to it. Shall I use a green ribbon for me  or is it solely for the horse?

Hello!

the green ribbon is only for the horse! But its a good thought! :)

When you get to the meet go and introduce yourself to the secretary, and they may well be able to pair you up with someone to show you the ropes and to make sure you are ok.

Take a flask of tea and a sarnie to have when you get back to your vehicle.
Get as much ready the night before as you can, and in the morning of the hunt do as much to prepare for your return as possible. This all makes it quick and easy to get going, and to get your horse looked after when you get home.

have fun, and remember to tell us about it! :D
