I went to see a totally unsuitable horse at the weekend, arranged to see another this weekend but just found out some information so that might be off. Nothings in my price bracket, just feel like giving up. Why arent people honest?

Sorry rant over.

I am but mines only a baby. Nothing to lie about!! I think it really is luck of the draw as to whether people lie or not (I couldn't even if I tried something to do with my face going a sort of beetroot colour!!! lol!), what is you're after and budget, word of mouth is always the best route to finding your new best mate if possible!

I've no idea about you so this isn't a dig but are you being honest and thorough on the phone when you describe yourself?

When I was selling Lily I had a number of completely unsuitable people come to view her who had completely overestimated both their riding ability and the quality of horse that you could get for £1500. I told people she was green and that she bucked occassionally but then they would arrive, not ride her as well as they thought she "should" go and then try to haggle the price down because she was "green" and she bucked. The worst were the people who decided that she wasn't suitable to take their novice daughter to BE Novice. No kidding!

When we were looking a couple of years ago we got reaaly fed up and so we had a break from looking for a couple of weeks which really helped.

Maybe give it a break for a week or two.

Yeah a break sounds a good idea but I kind of had an enforced break over Christmas. The horse I saw was lovely but I was unsuitable for her.

I know how you feel Im still looking ....keep your chin up ... do you have wanted ads up in all ther usual places?

I put one up on Equine Adverts on Fri and i had 5 calls over the weekend a couple sounding promising well worth a try and has curtailed my daily trawling to every other day!!!:D

I am paying money for an empty stable at mo which is sooo frustrating!

What are you looking for?? My friend has to sell 10 of hers as she has got 18!!!!! Its costing her over £700 a month on haylage at the min and she is really struggling.

I want something around 16 hands - 16'2 between 4-8 to do a few local shows nothing high level and don't mind anything green, not got a massive budget. Your friend will be to far away for me though I'm in the North West.

I have a 16.2 rising 4yo thats I have just started riding, he's a nice sensable quality hunter type. Not going to advertise him till spring though because I want to bring him on a bit more first. If anyone wants a sneak preview there's a picture of him on my profile page.
