Cubbing isn't far away but is anyone else struggling to get going this year...i blame the weather!!!

The trouble with the rain is I keep thinking another day won't matter..... it's going to be Opening Meet before I get back on at this rate lol!

That's why I don't turn mine away!! I was clever this year and loaned one out to a hunting friend for the summer (her mare is out of action), so is keeping him fit for me....!

same!! it rains and i delay it for another day if i carry on this way cubbing the opening meet and the 2011 season will have passed me by!! come on ladies time to get back in the saddle!! :p

I have sort of got mine in work if working means dandering round the roads on a long rein on dry days only

Im a bit stuck as saddle is slipping badly to the right and saddler cant come till the 9th argh dont want to start with back problems so long reining with a bunge every other day cant wait to start getting her fit

My problem is I have never really given him time off before...he always used to compete in the spring/summer so was kept fit all year. Last year he had a two week holiday but this year i thought...poor old buggar he's done 10 seasons with me so deserves a proper holiday...and now i can't get going again!!

Maybe we should have a joint fitness program.

(Plus i also forgot how dull walk work is!)

I plan to ride out tonight........

same here... don't turn them out, just let them take it easy for a bit and hack about. Works much better as they get older to keep them going. Ron is 17 and has never been better - his legs are just about ok for hunting, just needs some fast work to be there in time for opening meet.
