Getting Him To Keep His Head Up

When I Ride One Of My Horses He Doesn't Keep his Head Up In Canter, And I've Tried So Much, To MAke Him Carry His Head More, But Nothing Will Work. He's FIne Out Hacking, it just Schooling.

Any Suggestions?

keep the impulsion, I have this problem with my cob who is very on the forehand. I manage it by a lot of leg and keeping the contact, you can also try raising your hands by a couple of inches.

I could be wrong but this works for me.

try putting a sheepskin noseband on his bridle.

As with the other post from this person, it depends on the level of schooling of the horse. Asking for the poll to rise too early in training would not be a good thing.

Does this mean that if the neck is long and the head is down that is wrong. I thought it was good to let the horse ride long. Then you can feel you are letting him go.

i ask H to stretch down first, can;t do unless on flat surfaces as he stubles and falls, then i ask for collection, slowy

Having read the other post by this person I can only suggest you get some lessons from an experienced instructor.

We can't tell you what to do on here because we don't know you or the horse, and what you feel/think is happening could be caused by any number of possibilities.

Find a good instructor, they will be able to sort out your problems. Would also suggest you look to yourself as well as to the horse....
