I know it could be worse but I feel like everything has been going downhill for the past goodness knows how long with my horses! Last year they both took strangles, one was so ill I thought she was going to die. Her face practically fell off with the abscesses. They were then in for about 2 ½ months due to strangles still being on the yard. I moved them in December to a farm, DIY livery great promised they could go out and that there would only be a few horses in each field etc dont like loads of horses out together after nearly being ran over one day years ago) Shortly after I moved them I was promoted at work (a good thing I know) but it meant that DIY wasnt suitable. To be honest neither was the turnout. I moved them again after being there for 3 months I said at the time that this was the last time. When I moved I thought the yard I was moving to was ideal. However nothing is ever simple is it! All was fine for about 6 weeks, they were out every day and my mare started to look normal again, however they then shut the winter fields and had not made the summer fields therefore the horses stood in for a number of weeks, just when the weather was nice. Which hacked me off a bit tbh. There are a few other things that are bugging me
.like I run out of hay and they sometimes dont have any for me
.one of my horses cant get haylage it just runs right through him. YO moving the horses fields and not putting water into them if I knew they were moving fields I would top it up myself. YO putting her horses out in the best field for the livery horses (the only one with grass in it) despite telling me when I moved that her horses went out in such and such a field and refusing to let us use that particular field when there was no turnout. There are only a few horses there and only 2 geldings, my wee horses friend is moving in the next couple of days and he wont have anyone to go out with so will be out during the day but in at night - he cannot go out with mares he molests them. Its summer I would like him out as much as possible (obviously depending on the weather). To top it off he has gone lame and I am terrified in case he doesnt come right, although the vet says he thinks he should be ok, I cant help but worry.
Am I being a drama queen? Honestly I feel like if its not one thing its another. I didnt want to move them again but I am getting to the end of my tether. Sorry for the long post but any advice would be appreciated!
