I've only actually been riding for 5 months so I've decided to forgo hunting till next season. I can canter and jump about 3 ft, but I feel I need to a more proficient horseman before taking to the hunting field.

What other ways could I get involved without riding?

:)

Cor, you sound better than most already!!

Try contacting your local pack, there's always jobs to be done, and most packs welcome foot followers. You can follow on foot, on a bike or in a car depending on the country you hunt. Most of our lot follow in a car, then get out at coverts to see the lines. Following on foot you get to see all of the action without getting too dirty!

Have fun!

I've been able to ride a fair bit as my dad was a professional at one point and has a few contacts, although I've never set hoof out of the school:rolleyes:. I'll contact a few local packs:)
