Getting rid of fat pads?

I'm ashamed to say my little sec a has got far too fat already this year. New routine with restricted grazing/more exercise is in place and weight slowly coming off but he's got some fatty pads on his back/bum

Is there anything I can do to help get rid of them? Or even just help them go quicker?

Some people say magox can help, its pretty cheap and safe, so may be worth a try

Does it need to be a particular one? There seems to be diff purity's and a "heavy" one?

I reckon Pro Earth is great value for money and it is pretty good purity.
I am sure mag ox helps my ponies.

I use mag ox and salt together. I have an Cushing's pony who is insulin resistant and it certainly helps her. I use the heavy one.

How much salt should I give him? The mag ox seems to be 2g per 100kg body weight
