Am looking at getting a GFS Avantage bridle for daughters pony. They seem good value for money but are they english leather?? Or would a treadstone one be better.
Will be for occasional use

I have a treadstone bridle which I love, but both can be variable in quality to be honest!! Best thing is to go somewhere where you can "select" the quality a bit more....

Not too bothered as its for pony so quality isnt too much of an issue as long as its not cheap and nasty looking and isnt indian. i have seen treadstone ones and GFS both seem good value for money but wondered how they faired. She already has a jeffries but new saddle is brown so we need a brown bridle!

GFS do bridles of varying qualities. The Professional range is good & it is English Leather. The Advantage range is imported leather & the quality is not good at all. It is almost impossible to get any sheen or lustre on the leather no matter what you clean it with. It is dull & horrible. The Tredstone bridles are much better quality that the Advantage & IMO a much better buy.

I have just got a treadstone to replace my gfs advantage.. huge difference in leather quality. The treadtsone bridle is gorgeous.
