Girl dies on school trip

This is such sad news. Saw it on news yesterday.
My thoughts were why on earth didn't they cancel the trip in view of the weather warnings and conditions.
My deepest sympathies to the families concerned.

Tragic news :(

I am left wondering if the girl was wearing a seat belt, the report says she was thrown from the coach which does sound like she wasn't :(

These were children from my god kids school :( Fortunately their mum let me know early that neither were involved as it was just the year ahead of the boys class that went. It so so tragic. The family must be devastated and I think the school is absolute shock :( My god daughter is upset as the teacher involves was her science teacher and I think he is extremely popular with all the kids there.

I'd have doubted she was wearing a seat belt. :o( as she was found trapped in the river and under the bus so must have been thrown out of the window :(

poor poor girl :(

RIP the poor girl.

This comes just before i am due to send daughter away in month or so at 10 years old and they got snotty because i asked who was driving the minibuses (I have PCV bus licence etc and offered).

Couple of teachers with no experience of driving vehicles bigger than a car and also being distracted by umpteen kiddies!!!

This is really sad. Thing is, already the school seem to be getting blamed for letting the trip go ahead, BUT at the end of the day the parents ALLOWED their kids to go! I believe one parent didnt, the rest did...

Surely they have thir MIDAS bus licence? I used to drive the mini bus for a school and it is essential to have this if you are driving a school mini bus.
