Morning all - just looking for a bit of advice about my 3 yr old GR bitch. She is not spayed and has regular normal seasons. She is due another season in 4 months.
Last week she started constantly cleaning and licking herself in her girlie garden so I had a good look and a good sniff as worried about infection. All lovely and healthy no smell.
I cleaned it all for her with some hand hot water and all was well. Over the weekend she has increased the licking and is really having a good grout round down their.Again nothing to see feel or smell down there. I've made an appointment at the vet for tomorrow but just wondered if anyone had come across this before.
She is in rude health , eating drinking normally but does seem a little low on the stamina side this weekend but then we haven't stopped . Shes done a dog show,3 long walks and dinner out 2 nights with friends. She has a very full social calendar.
Should I get her to the vet today instead of waiting till tomorrow but it doesn't feel that urgent at this point.
Thoughts?

I would also check for uti ....plus the timing is classic for pyometriosis..she is two months after a season so I'd definitely have a vet check, licking and lethargic.....in the meantime take her temp to see she's not running high,if she is take her in at once..
I had a ddbordeaux mastiff who had similar symptoms..no discharge and did really well in a CDX trial, but to me she was "a bit off."..it was a closed pyo so I'd not ignore your hunch that all is not well...definitely get it checked.

Thanks both - I've made an appointment tonight after work - Its in the back of my mind about Pyom - My GSP bitch had it but it pumped out and it was horrifc. Best be safe than sorry xxx

The other option is a phantom as she may be thinking she is about to have pups. Still a v good idea to get checked by vet as you can never b to careful regarding pyo
