Hi,

Had the saddle fitter out and go a new saddle so thats all sorted, he recommended a 50" girth so I bought thorowgood standard airform 50" one and been using it for a few weeks now, but already have to use the top holes on both sides (but when on top on both it is tight enough) so obviously 50" is too big for if she loses weight over the winter.

Now my debate is do I buy a 48" or 46" seeing as its already top on both only having used it a few weeks and barely even stretched it so far, what would you all recommend?

Thank you!

You should not have the girth up that high, I like to be on holes two or three each side it is better for the saddle and will keep it more stable than having it too high. I would go for 46 or if the straps are fairly long a 44 would be better to allow for stretching.

Exactly why I want a new one! I think I will go for the 46 then, thank you!

The shortest one you can JUST get done up, so assess it from where you co do it up on first attempt, and measure down on each side to the first hole of the girth strap, then subtract from current girth length :). Probably 46", but depends on how much your pone blows himself out!
