What is the nicest, softest, most comfy girth for a very thin skinned and sensitive type?
Thank you.

I use an Aerborn humane girth for my horse, (the one made out of cushion webbing not the plasticky waffle one) he objected badly to any of the neoprene/rubbery type girths as they caught his hair, but the aerborn girth is very soft and washes really well too.

I have to use a leather girth, shaped around the elbows and with a clean sheepskin cover on (real sheepskin, not just the nuumed wool ones) on my sensitive mare. You can get washable sheepskin, so keeping it clean isn't a bind, although often I can just brush the dry sweat off it so it doesn't get washed every wear. This is the mare that I can't ride wearing my Ariat boots as they rub her sides - she's pretty sensitive and rubs very easily.

I have one like this, everything rubs! I recently changed him to a Saddle Company ergonomic/ anatomical girth and it's the only thing that has never rubbed him. It's a lovely girth, especially for the price. I detest humane girths, they are very far from that, and although I do like synthetic padded ones, I find they rub this particular horse.

I did think about a sheepskin protector on a leather girth.
I looked at the humane girth but I had one of those years ago and hated it, sorry, I didn't find it very safe.
We are going to go to Ingatestone - who needs an excuse! - and have a good look. The current girth doesn't have elastic and maybe one with elastic obth sides would be better, too.

Why are they "far from humane"?! Its one thing to have an opinion, another entirely to state it as fact.

My mare is quite sensitive and prone to rubbing. I have recently got her a professionals choice girth, and she seems to be quite happy in it. Much happier than she was in her previous wintec girth :)

Hi, I wouldn't recommend the wintec cair girth - I used to have one because it came with my boy when I bought him, I know that their have been some very bad reviews for these girths like rubbing horse's sides raw etc. He know has a soft leather one :)
