Girth Extenders

Anyone use a girth extender? With the summer grass my mare has got a bit fat and I'm struggling to do up her girth. I'm just wondering if instead of spending £20 on a new girth I should get an extender? Are they any good - I would just be a bit worried that where the buckles of the normal girth fasten to the extender it would rub her?

I use one but only to allow me to get one strap of the girth (stud guard type with elastic ends) on to the saddle. After that I dont need it so doesn't stay on.

Ummmm.....the more I think I wonder if I'd be better just getting another girth.

I've only just got her this one about 6 weeks ago though (one of the Thorowgood Airo thingie ones) so I'm loathed to buy another one!!

Worth it if you have a nice girth and a big horse like I have - Cairo needs just a bit more than 60" girths.
