Last night, when staring at my little fat horse and thinking about our future attempts at showing, I was wondering what girth to use for showing?? Just a normal brown leather one? A brown webbing one, or, I remembered that on our grey pony we always used a white girth for first ridden, which is difficult to describe, it wasn't stitched and padded like normal girths, just 'flat' (Flash's belly is white). What is correct, or does it really matter? Random question I know!

Like P_G said, but if its down to personal preference i would go for leather

I agree but lots of people use white girths on greys, which also looks good.

I have a leather girth but had to change it to a Thorowgood as my saddle was slipping... imo you can't tell the difference and no slippage so all good!

The Stubben string girths are great for slipping saddles and look neater for showing and have lots of colour choices. I would either go for white or a leather girth.
