Anyone's experience with girth Galls / patches that are rubbed bald?
Had a lovely jump saddle fitted a few years ago, with a long girth and all has been well. Plan was to always get dressage saddle equivalent (awkward shaped NF) so after a couple of years of looking... Source what I'm after. Have it fitted by saddle fitter, saddle has issues with moving forward... Which were dealt with, then cue both short girths I purchased have rubbed my mare in two places. Totally mortified....
Now have a sensitive mare, with two bald patches where the girth rubbed only on one side and a slightly raised patch, but no broken skin or wound.
Am using surgical spirit and Gold Label skin hardener gel and back riding in jump saddle with long girth.... Any more suggestions please for clearing these up? She's never had a mark on her before, I am beyond mortified!
