Will try and keep this short & sweet as I know there are quite a few of these around now (sorry!)
When my mare first came to me she was fine to be girthed up, but has recently become quite "girthy" - puffing out / ears back / turning and glaring at me etc. She's had multiple saddle/back/body checks and everything's fine there, so I assume it's the girth she's unhappy with and would like to try an alternative as I've been meaning to get her a nicer one for a while anyway.
She's currently in a very "standard" one - lightweight cushion web type material, non-elasticated.
I would have thought that a girth with elastic (in the centre??) would be most comfortable as it would allow for some give when the horse was in fast work (which she does quite a bit of) - but have heard conflicting advice on this, what are your thoughts?
I also need something that won't rub Miss Sensitive - everything seems to rub her so new girth would need to be one that wouldn't rub or chafe her. It would be for flatwork and jumping, and as she's quite sharp would love something that will do its job properly so that when she shoots off to the side I remain on top
!
I've heard a lot of good things about the professionals choice girths on here, but am after something a little more "budget" for the time being - would be very grateful for your suggestions / recommendations xx
