Can anyone recommend me a girth? I have a leather girth with elastic at both ends. I have been really happy with it but the elastic is starting to fray slightly so I now need a replacement. I was planning to get the same again but have been struggling to find one so thought maybe I could try an alternative (or maybe someone could find me a brown, 48" in stock somewhere?). The horse is a 16hh ISH. He is grey and can be prone to rubs at coat change time. He mainly hacks/dressage/endurance. Our hacking tends to include quite a lot of fast work so it needs to be able to deal with a sweaty horse. Saddle is an Albion K2, jump, if that makes a difference. I don't really want to use a girth sleeve as I am worried about it scrunching up and rubbing. I would rather not spend a fortune but up to about £50 is ok.

I have a simple wintec girth which my physio reccomended - my horse had girth galls and hematomas from me previous anatomical girth and advised me to stay away from them as they’re known to not fit many horses well and cause my horse issues (also more expensive). my girth is thin and elastic all the way which she mentioned allowed equal pressure, it hasn’t seemed to rub my horse at all either and she told me not to get an anti chaffing one (i’m not sure why though). it was about £25 and i love it. of course every horse is different so my physios recommendations may not be the same for you but just letting you know my own experience ! attached a photo x

English bridles have a leather one in stcock in that size. I have one and it is really good quality and very soft, but the price seems to have gone up a lot. I got mine at a show a couple of years ago for about £50.
