Girth rubbing suddenly!!

well, the boy has been getting quite hot when ridden through this hot weather but he's clipped fully and is thoroughly washed off every day.

i get back today, take his saddle off, wash his girth area and his skin starts coming away - it's only the top layr but even so!

so, first thing tomorrow morning i'm off to buy a sheepskin girth cover, my only question is, as he's only 11.2hh his girth is quite short so i need a small girth sleeve.

I'm guessing i'll have to get a dressage one but how much shorter than the girth length does the sleeve has to be?

it might be easier to go to a fabic selling shop and making one your self. otherwise you will end up buying a girth sleeve which you will have to cut. you might be able to get a girth with fur but im not sure if they do pony ones
