Having bought new horse an entire wardrobe I've inevitably made the odd mistake! One is a lovely leather girth which is too small. I don;t want to use a girth extender as they look a bit untidy - as it is one the the nice Prestige jumping ones with elastic one end do you think it feasible to have it lengthened. I know my saddler will say 'yes' but I can quite see what to ask him to do - as it is shaped the extension needs ot balance bothe ends if you see what I mean. OH bought it when we were away for a weekend and can't find the receipt, so I'm pretty cheesed off with my inability to measure!!

Will probably extend on the elastic? I have one with elastic both ends, so unevenness isnt a prob, but I imagine the elastic is probg best bet. How much longer does it have to be??!

4/5 inches longer which if you say 1 1/2 each side it isn't a lot really. For some odd reason I thought that elestic both ends could be an issue - not actually see it before. Sounds the best option however, thank you!

Elastic both ends is deemed "better" by vets/physio as there is no uneven pressure/strain on the saddle

Every physio I have spoken too have said the elastic at both ends is worse - apparantly its like an elastic band and "snap" when jumping. They are also apparantly very very easy to overtighten.
Not that I necessarily agree with the above comments - I have a girth elasticated at both ends for my fella and never had a problem - but then we dont jump yet!
