Girths

Hi there, there are probably load of threads about this already
What is the best girth for a pony that doesn't like his girth being done up? Back, teeth saddle all checked. He has always disliked it since i got him. Is there a girth which might make him more comfortable? I always do it up on the loosest hole and very gradually put it up. I have tried elasticated (one ended and double ended) and non elasticated, even humane, but he pulls faces at all of them. Thanks

Mine was the same and had all checks done. Ended up putting one of those fleecy girth sleeve things on and hes a different pony. Only put it on as I found it in the cupboard at home and we were going for a long ride. I always do it up gradually too, and run my hands underneath to make sure its all smooth.

Hmmm I have tried one before, I don't remember a lot of improvement but maybe its worth a try again? I would try anything to stop him getting so worked up over it!

Proffesionals choice firths are great, they are neoprene backed so you don't have to do them up as tight as the neoprene grips

Only put it on as I found it in the cupboard at home

*Sighs* I yearn for the life where I can open random cupboards in my own house to find odd bits of equine-related paraphernalia...
