Just a quick one.
Someone on my yard is giving their horse to another person. Am I totally making this up or do you have to give them £1 or whatever to make it legal so you can give a recipt?
Have I totally made this up myself? lol!

:)

seems to be the way it's done, did with both of mine that were gifted, most important is the receipt/contract of sale though:) Must be made clear that horse/pony is being gifted and current owner relinquishes all rights, just to make sure there's no 'confusion' later down the line.

I think the whole point of paying a £1 is the fact that you have actually 'paid' something for it. By paying £1 the horse has actually been 'bought' (the amount is irrelevant). It would (I'm certain) be just as legally binding as paying £10,000

Ah thanks! :) Was just having a conversation with them and I was sure someone told me that so the previous owner can't turn round down the line and say they want it back.
