Is there any way of giving a powder supplement without giving a full feed? Looking at giving a calming supplement (dodson and horrell, placid) but i currently dont feed my mare as they have really good grazing and ad lib hay, not in much work so is frankly a little bit fat 🙈 not wanting to add more calories than i need so i wanted to feed without anything else... or would i just need to buy some low cal/un-molassed chaff?

Syringe it with some water if you put a few drops of peppermint essence in it they look forward to having it so makes it an easy job.

If not I don't think a handful of chaff is going to make a huge difference.

To be honest if on good grazing and ad-lib hay then a tiny bucket feed is going to make diddly squat difference to calorie intake.
Try something like fast fibre or another low cal mash

(Or reduce the amount of good grass and you might find you don’t need a calmer)
