if anyone has followed brontes story she has been through an awful lot she was rescued in a pitiful state

She had injeries when I was away on holiday last year. To cut a very long story cut short a girl was told not to ride her but did and tried jumping her without warming up then proceeded to take her out on a hack galloping on ground as hard as concrete (she was seen cantering up a road =(. She has an annular ligament thickening.
Well ever since she has been fab after a lot of vet bills to get her better. Then when we got to our new yard she was behaving very strangely trying to mount my other mare who I had just taken on, rearing, napping and generally being a div. she ended up being kicked in the shoulder by my other horse as she was trying to mount her. A trip to liphook for a month with around 4 surgeries to clear up the osteomyelitis in her shattered shoulder (bone infection from the kick) and to remove her ovary which had a huge tumor which explained the behavior ensued.

So now you are getting the idea of what my darling pony who is my childhood friend (my first pony) has been through. Not to mention her tendon imagery on her right hind which needed a ligament cut (which also happened at liphook) has been through.

well she has been in and out of work from november as one of her legs keeps swelling and she goes slightly unlevel but comes sound with bute, rest, restricted turnout and gentle walking but as soon as she gets up to work she goes unlevel again the scanner the vet has shows nothing. so poor bronte is off to liphook today for better scans and perhapse surgery.

we have spoken to the vet as we have wanted a foal from her for years before all this started to happen and they think that the couple of years rest she will have whilst carrying and nursing the foal will be fantastic for her. they told us she has fab confo and can see why we want to breed from her. so we are now after dropping her off sorting out her leg and hopfully she will come back to the yard in foal. so excited after a lot of thought and searching i have choses woodlaner santan just love him i have spoken to the breeder and he sound like the most amazing horse.

you know what it sounds like fate as i had just put her boots on ready to load in the horse box she squirted and started winking eeek so who believes in fate

She's beautiful! But have you talked in depth with your vet about whether her injuries would stand up to the extra weight of a foal?

yes her injeries although wieghing heavy on my mind are only causing intermitent unlevelness and we are only taking her down the liphook route for her leg so she can carry on a ridden carier after being a broodmare with a clear concience as bronte really means the world to me. we have disscussed all of this with the vets at the equine hospital and they see no problem or i wouldnt even dream of putting by best friend through this i adore her. one of the reasons i would like a foal from her is contiue her as then she will still live on in years to come seriously i love this mare with all of my heart she is my world <3
